Barbarous Meat Market

Barbarous Bloodshed

In the tiny village of Tomohon in Sulawesi, Indonesia, the blood strewn meat market stinks of death and barbarity. Flared noses, bloodshot eyes, fierceness pervade on the faces of vendors in the interiors of the market where cobras, and open-mouthed, flame-torched bats and dogs and pigs lie dead. Around the market, where garlic and cinnamon and cloves are sold you can see a stark difference in the eyes of the vendors–a gentleness, and smiles pervade the area.
