Bharatnatyam dance


The dancer’s eyes takes the form of a snake’s in the middle of a Bharatnatyam performance during the festive of Navaratri in India, nine nights dedicated to honoring the various forms of shakti (or feminine energy) within all of us. The dance is dedicated to Shiva and Parvati and used to be practiced as a sacred form of meditation called Natya Yoga.
